The spiker Nicola Tiozzo will be the new captain of Bcc Castellana Grotte in the 2022/2023 sports season and in the next national championship series A2 Credem Banca of men’s volleyball. For the hammer from Veneto born in 1993, in his second consecutive year with New Mater Volley, second best Gialloblù scorer in the last A2 tournament behind the opposite Theo Lopes, the official investiture of the staff, his teammates and the dressing room has arrived.

“I am very happy with this appointment as captain, because it is the first time – commented Tiozzo himself – Being captain in an important square like Castellana is an honor and a source of pride. I was very pleased with everyone’s trust and I feel ready to play such an important and significant role. I am also very happy because in this start of the season we are working very well and we are creating the right conditions to face the next months. From the captains I have had in the past I have always tried to learn some good principles: among these certainly the work in the gym and the desire to win. From a personal point of view, I started this new adventure with the New Mater with great serenity, finding the right points of reference both on and off the pitch ”.

In the meantime, the first two weeks of work have gone to the archive. From the new captain Tiozzo a first assessment of what has been done and what needs to be done: “To face next season correctly, we must first of all abandon what happened and did last year. We are a new team, with many new athletes and with a new coach. We are a team that can do well and we are getting to know each other with the staff. Clearly we still have a lot of work to face, the commitment is maximum and we are ready to face the first seasonal appointments “.

At the end of this third week of training, in fact, the first joint training session with the Gioiella Prisma Taranto is also scheduled (Saturday 10 September 2022, at 5 pm, at the Pala Grotte di Castellana): “We start the test matches with the awareness of having to take the good that will come and with the peace of mind of knowing that we are also facing Super League teams and above all teams that have started the preparation before us. We are confident and serene “.
