In the end, Itas Trentino detached the pass for the Final Four in Rome with a top-level performance in the single match of the Del Monte® Coppa Italia SuperLega quarter-finals, coming back after a first set conquered by the Valsa Group with a great start. Within the friendly walls of an overflowing PalaPanini, Modena starts with the sextet made up of Bruno-Lagumdzija in the main diagonal, Ngapeth-Rinaldi in the band, Stankovic-Sanguinetti in the center with Rossini free. Trento lines up Sbertoli-Kaziyski, Michieletto-Lavia spikers, Lisinac-Podrascanin central players with Laurenzano free. In front of 4400 spectators, the Valsa Group becomes the protagonist of an overwhelming spurt (14-8). Lagumdzija has a hot hand and closes the 22-14 perfectly, laying the foundations for the 25-17 of the first set. Trento is super in the second set. Lorenzetti’s team tries to make their way, but Modena takes them back (7-7). We arrive at 13-16 with Trento which raises the engine revs again. Itas goes up 21-23, the Valsa Group goes back up, but misfires at the most beautiful, paving the way for the gialloblùs to hook up in the calculation of the sets (26-28). The third partial begins with a closed point (13-14). Both teams defend and counterattack with precision. Trento guesses the winning sprint and closes the third act (22-25). Upon returning, the set is blocked for a long time (12-12), but in the crucial moment Lorenzetti’s men show that they have more fuel (20-25). Certainly the one needed to reach the Palazzo dello Sport in Rome and challenge the winner of the match between Cucine Lube Civitanova and Allianz Milano on 25 February 2023.
