Trentino Volley BIG Camp 2023 went into the archives today, with the conclusion of the sixth and last round. An edition, the sixteenth ever, which will also (but not only) be remembered for the absolute record of registrations; in the forty-two days of the Gialloblù summer camp on Monte Bondone (the Mountain of Trento which has hosted this type of initiative since 2007) there were in fact 1078 young participants, with an increase of 170 units compared to the previous year.
All members (between eleven and seventeen years old) alternated between 2 July and 12 August on a dozen sand, grass and tartan playgrounds, giving life to two hundred and sixteen hours of activity, directed by a very valid staff made up of twenty-seven of instructors. Also in summer 2023, the Trentino Volley BIG Camp has therefore confirmed itself as an excellent way for young volleyball enthusiasts to spend particularly fun and intense weeks in the open air; not even the days characterized by bad weather managed to put a stop to the activity, carried out on those occasions exclusively at the Sopramonte gym (already the scene of daily workouts for some of the participants) or in the structures of the two hotels that hosted the boys, Chalet Caminetto and Chalet Dolomites.
The added value was also represented by the continuous alternation of the so-called “BIG Guests” at Vason; during the six rounds, many prominent personalities came to Bondone to meet the boys and talk about their high-level volleyball experience: the blues Oreste Cavuto and Alessandro Michieletto, the young center back from South Tyrol and the new Italian Champion Martin Berger, the protagonists of the promotion to the women’s Serie A1 of Trentino Volley Silvia Fondriest and Francesca Michieletto, the legend Matey Kaziyski, the Sports Director of the women’s sector Duccio Ripasarti and the President Bruno Da Re, who went up to Bondone on Thursday afternoon to greet and thank all those who made this memorable edition possible. On Friday at lunch there was instead space for the traditional cutting of the celebratory cake created by the sponsor Panificio Pasticceria Tecchiolli.
The BIG Camp 2023 is therefore being archived to the great satisfaction of all, but also with many ideas to be developed in anticipation of summer 2024. The appointment is in less than eleven months; the organizational machine is ready to get to work and plan the 17th summer in Monte Bondone.
