The Italian Volleyball Federation, on the recommendation of the Coach Ferdinando De Giorgi, has issued the call-ups for the first collegiate of the Men’s Senior National Team, which will start on Sunday 7 May 2023 in Cavalese. And among the squad there are also two players from Pool Libertas Cantù: Alessio Alberini and Kristian Gamba.

For Alessio Alberini this is the first Azzurri call-up, despite his palmarès seeing as many as seven youth championships conquered. For Kristian Gamba it is a return: the opposite left-handed has already worn this shirt both in the season spent in Club Italia and in the various youth selections, with which he conquered silver at the Under 21 World Cup in 2019.

“I am truly honored to have two boys in the team like Kristian Gamba and Alessio Alberini – comments the President Ambrogio Molteni -, who from Sunday will wear the blue shirt of the senior national team with Ferdinando De Giorgi. It is an exceptional and highly prestigious result for all of us at Libertas, and I think for Cantù sport in general. After Luca Spirito, Enzo Barbaro and Andrea Santangelo, who in the past wore the blue for the national team, these are two very young boys, aged 22 and 24, who this year made our Serie A2 team great in a incredible league. To them goes the applause and the best of luck for this new adventure”.
