Every summer brings new faces, ambitions, dreams, and challenges. But some stories immediately capture attention because they tell a story that goes beyond simply completing a roster. Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina completes its middle blockers for the 2026/2027 season with the addition of Stefano Michelini, born in 2009, one of the youngest players in the entire national scene who will be joining the upcoming Serie A2. This move looks to the present but, above all, to the future, fully embracing a philosophy that has always characterized the club’s journey over the years: building, developing, and having the courage to believe in young people.
For Stefano, this is a huge leap, not only in terms of the level of the category, but for everything this opportunity represents. It’s a move that comes after a journey away from the spotlight but built on curiosity, enthusiasm, and a strong desire to learn. Because his story doesn’t stem from early expectations or pre-written plans. “I started playing volleyball to try a new experience, and I loved it right away.” A simple phrase, almost disarming in its spontaneity. Yet it contains much of what often unites the most beautiful journeys: no obsessive pursuit of results, just the desire to get involved.
Michelini grew up playing at Nova Volley Loreto, where he built the foundations for his career and spent his first formative seasons: “I played in Loreto until last season, and this season that’s about to begin represents a big step forward for me.”
