The next stop on Angelo’s long journey, a fine strategist, a great communicator and connoisseur of volleyball like few others, is called Perugia, his name is Sir Safety Susa.
“What is my first feeling? First of all gratitude because this opportunity came at a time when I was convinced I was going to stay still for a year”. Here are Lorenzetti’s first words as Block Devils coach. Angelo continues.
“Clearly we are talking about a big opportunity in a team, in a club, in a sports hall and in a reality that I have known many times as an opponent in recent years. I have to say that even as an opponent Perugia has always welcomed me in a nice and kind way and I hope this is a good encouragement to build a good path all together. Did I expect it? I honestly didn’t expect Perugia’s call. I very much appreciated the fact that the president took action in person because it is not a foregone conclusion and I appreciated his willingness to immediately establish a connection. We have begun to get to know each other and for my part I will put all of myself into making the acquaintance effective”.

“Evidently we are talking about a very competitive group, a group that I have always seen as an opponent and that I can’t wait to get to know. I have already trained some guys, like Simo, Seba and Max (Giannelli, Solè and Colaci, ed), and I know them well. But the situation will be new, there are things that will need time, there will be maximum availability on my part, my predisposition will be to never take anything for granted and to work”.
It’s time for desires and goals.
“I would like my Perugia to be a team that attacks the opponent, with the ability to be present at all times, to be aggressive, and to never take anything for granted against any team. We will be engaged in fewer fronts and therefore we will immediately have to seek excellence to try to reach as many endings as possible. We can say that we will be hunters of finals”.
The conclusion is for his new fans.
“I tell my new fans that I can’t wait to get to know that white curve and that white wall that I have been against another player in many situations over the years. I hope through my work I can earn their trust as soon as possible”.
Welcome to Perugia, Angelo!
