The Valsa Group Modena does not mesh in the first leg of the CEV Cup Finals 2023: Roeselare passes through the PalaPanini, a Belgian team that ousted Piacenza in the Semifinal and “fished out” in the CEV Cup after third place in Pool C (the same as Civitanova ). The return match, the one that will award the Cup, will be played on Wednesday 5 April at the Tomabel Hall in Roeselare: the Valsa Group will need a 3-0 or 3-1 victory and the subsequent Golden Set.

Modena starts with the sextet made up of Bruno-Lagumdzija in the main diagonal, Ngapeth-Rinaldi in the band, Stankovic-Sanguinetti in the center with Rossini free. Roeselare starts with D’Hulst on the dribble, Koukartsev opposite, Rotty-Verhanneman in place 4, Coolman-Fasteland in the center and Deroey free. Point-to-point start for the first leg of the Cev Cup final with the Belgians going 8-9. Roeselare goes on 11-13 with Koukartsev as protagonist. The Knack goes on 15-19 with the hundred fans who arrived from Belgium who make themselves heard. Roeselare closes the first set 21-25. In the second set it is Rinaldi who plays the charge, Modena goes up 8-7. Roeselare takes back the set, changes gears and goes on 14-17. The Belgians don’t stop, 19-22 and Modena who tries to regain the partial. Roeselare closes the set 23-25, it’s 2-0. In the third set, Roeselare immediately goes up to 4-7. Modena raises its head with Ngapeth placing 10-9. The Knack resumes its march going on 13-15 then Lagumdzija points. Roeselare runs away and closes the third set 21-25 and the match 0-3.

Before the return match, Valsa Group Modena is called to travel to Game 4 of the Quarter Finals Play Off SuperLega Credem Banca at PalaBancaSport against Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza. The team coached by Andrea Giani leads 2-1 in the series, and on Sunday at 18.00 live on Rai Sport will try to capitalize on the second “match ball” to reach the Semifinals.
