The beacher Alessandro Carucci, already joined for training since last December, will play this season finale with Pool Libertas Cantù. It has been since the 2016/2017 season that the Milanese left-handed hasn’t hit the floor of a sports hall: since the promotion to Serie A2 won on the field with Volleyball Saronno, he has dedicated himself body and soul to the beach, both as a national level player and of federal instructor. With the call of President Ambrogio Molteni, he returns to tread the taraflex of the second national series, and will lend a hand to the Cantù team until the end of the championship.

Coach Francesco Denora comments on the new arrival as follows: “When we found ourselves in difficulty due to Giacomo Rota’s injury, Alessandro Carucci initially came to give us a hand with training. Right from the start he proved to be professional, and we can also say he was linked to the team, and given his important contribution we decided to let him fully join the group. It will certainly be useful to us in this final phase, where every energy is important to achieve our goals”.

“My last year of indoor volleyball – recalls the player – was the 2016/2017 season with Pallavolo Saronno: we were promoted to Serie A2 by winning the Serie B championship (Serie A3 wasn’t there yet). After that, I decided to accept a job offer as a Beach Volleyball coach at the Open Beach school in Milan, for which I trained both amateurs and agonists until September 2022. As a Beach Volley player I participated in the Italian championship, obtaining two bronze medals (Palinuro 2019 and San Remo 2021) and several top 8 placements at various stages. In recent years I have won several national tournaments “Beach Series 1” and participated in some international tournaments. The tournament I remember with the most pleasure was the 2021 Scudetto final, in which several international-level couples who constantly participate in the World Tour were present. I played in tandem with Matteo Cecchini, and we finished seventh behind 4 Olympic couples and the pairs of the Italian national team”.

“I did my first training sessions at Pool Libertas as sparring to replace Jack (Giacomo Rota, ed) – he continues -, then when they learned that an operation would have to be done, the Coach (Francesco Denora, ed) asked me to finish the season with the team.
