The transfer market for the 2023/2024 Serie A2 Credem Banca season has officially closed. And the Pool Libertas Cantù will also be at the starting line for the second national series for the twelfth time, the eleventh in a row. President Ambrogio Molteni managed to reconfirm most of the sextet (+1) who played in the historic 2022/2023 season, which ended with second place at the end of the Regular Season, the semifinal of DelMonte® Coppa Italia Serie A2 and the final of the DelMonte® Super Cup Serie A2.
The Canturini fans will once again be able to applaud the two flags Dario Monguzzi and Luca Butti, who will take the field again alongside Kristian Gamba, Giuseppe Ottaviani and Jonas Aguenier. The control room will be in the expert hands of Matteo Pedron, while the Albanian Redi Bakiri will complete the sextet. Two confirmations also among the boys ready to lend a hand: both Francesco Gianotti and Matteo Picchio will continue their adventure in the Canturina jersey. In this department there are three “new entries”, the opposite Francesco Quagliozzi and the spikers Lorenzo Magliano and Andrea Bacco; while central Gianluca Rossi returns to play his cards.
“I am very satisfied with the roster we have set up for next season – says Coach Francesco Denora -, starting first of all with the many reconfirmations, which is not easy and obvious after the exploits recorded. We know very well that we are not among the companies with the most important budgets, for this reason ideas count even more, and all the more reason the great work of President Ambrogio Molteni to balance everything with the confirmations and new arrivals must be recognized. Then, as we have already demonstrated, budgets don’t go on the pitch. The backbone of the group will be essential to maintain the mentality already created and to make it acquire to the new ones: surely from a technical point of view we will be different in something for obvious reasons, certainly we will not lose the fighting spirit and attention to detail, but we will look for new Force. Matteo Pedron has different characteristics from Alessio Alberini: he is less aggressive on serve, but he has an excellent technique, and I think he will be able to make us grow in attack. Furthermore, he was the perfect profile to find affinity with Kristian Gamba as soon as possible to make him continue to express himself at the highest level.
