Del Monte® Coppa Italia SuperLega stopped off in the Municipality of Alseno this morning. The Mayor Davide Zucchi, together with the Councilor for Youth Policies Giorgia Camoni and the Councilors Renato Rosi and Pietro Ghizzoni, received Gianfranco Curti, founder of Gas Sales, a company based in Alseno, in the Council Chamber.

Gianfranco Curti brought the trophy won by Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza to the Town Hall in Rome, in front of over eleven thousand spectators and the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella.

“We are particularly proud as citizens of Alseno – underlined Mayor Davide Zucchi – that such an important trophy is now in our Town Hall. A local company knows how to work in the area, it knows how to experience the area and when a few years ago Gas Sales intervened to save volleyball in Piacenza, knowing the seriousness of the company and the Curti family, I knew that everything would be right and successes would come. ”.

Gianfranco Curti for his part wanted to thank the Mayor “for this invitation” and underlined a concept very dear to the founder of Gas Sales.

“As I have repeated several times, this Italian Cup was not won only by the players and those who take the field but by all those who have been working on this volleyball project for some time. In the trenches there are the players but behind them there is a platoon that does everything to enable them to give their best and win the battles up front. And if the platoon weren’t behind it, we wouldn’t get anywhere. This Coppa Italia belongs to all of us, including the Municipality of Alseno. We sow in our area, we cultivate and harvest but we also invest a lot in our area as a local company should do”.

The Coppa Italia was won by the red and white team by beating Itas Trentino 3-0 in the final, while in the semi-final, with the same score, the red and white team had defeated the team from Perugia, which had never lost this season and came from 33 consecutive victories .
