The journey towards Europe has officially begun for Massimo Eccheli’s Vero Volley Monza. On Wednesday 19 July at the European Broadcasting Center in Luxembourg, the European Volleyball Confederation announced, through the draws, the first opponent of the Monza men’s team for the next CEV Challenge Cup 2024.

Thanks to the 3-2 victory against Sir Safety Perugia in the Final of the Play Offs Scudetto 5th place played on May 13th, the rossoblùs have once again won the pass for participation in the European competition, ready to unleash all the weapons at their disposal to try to go as far as possible.

The Monza team of Beretta and his companions will start directly from the round of 32 without going through the qualifying round, facing the Portuguese team of Sporting CP Lisbon with the first leg scheduled between November 21st and 23rd and the second leg which will be played between November 28th and on November 30th.

For the third time in its history, Monza will therefore take part in a continental competition, as already happened in 2018/2019, when the Brianzas lost in the Final of the CEV Challenge Cup against the Russians of Belgorod, and in 2021/2022, closed with the historic triumph in France against Tours in the CEV Cup, first European title for the Consorzio Vero Volley in the men’s sector.
