Libero Nicola Fortunato will wear the Volleyball Rebirth shirt again: originally from Lagonegro (Pz) born in 1995, he took his first steps in volleyball playing from 2007 to 2016 in the Volleyball Rebirth in Serie B. He will be reconfirmed in 2017 until 2019 playing in the A2 series championship. In 2020 he was called up by Sabaudia in Serie A3, then in 2021 he will play in Palmi and then in the last championship wearing the Aversa shirt in Serie A3.
“For me it is not an arrival but a welcome return. I grew up in the youth team of the Rebirth until the debut of the A2. It was an important experience especially from a personal point of view, I’ve played away from home for several years and I think this is the right moment for a return. The home building will not be in Lagonegro but rather in Villa D’Agri, a town not far away and having spoken very well of it, I can’t wait to get there. The people are very welcoming and warm, the Lagonegro fans manage to make me feel all their affection and never stop supporting us. They, like us on the other hand, need revenge after the last year. The phone call with President Charlemagne was very important to me, I didn’t hesitate to accept and I can’t wait to start this new project, trying to achieve important goals. The roster is well equipped, it will be a difficult championship but I’m sure we will put the opposing teams in difficulty since we all have one goal: the jump in category. I don’t know coach Lorizio personally, but he has a reputation that precedes him at national level, in fact I’m sure we’ll do a great team job. I’m happy to go back to Lagonegro, for me it’s a home more than a company.”
