Med Store Tunit Macerata had a difficult start to the season, during which they had to face various obstacles, including the bad injury suffered by middle blocker Gabriele Sanfilippo in the match against Monge-Gerbaudo Savigliano. Supported by the entire red and white family, Sanfilippo then continued on his recovery journey, facing a knee operation that will allow him to resume competitive activity over time. There is still a long way to go but the centre-back can always count on the club and the team.

“We can say that the worst is over”, explains Sanfilippo, “After knee surgery and thanks to the care of the doctors, I can now concentrate on the first exercises and the time is approaching when I can walk again. Compared to the injury of the 2020/2021 season, I suffered a different damage and there was a need to reconstruct the collateral ligament. It’s a journey that seems endless but every day I see small improvements and although the goal is still far away, I know what steps await me: in addition to recovering the physical part, the most difficult aspect will be recovering the tranquility in performing those movements that caused the injury. I’m confident though and working alongside the team is a big help.” Whenever you can, you are at the games to support Med Store Tunit, the bond with the team and teammates remains strong, “We are facing two parallel paths, they fight on the pitch to achieve team goals and for me it is an important stimulus. I also spoke with coach Gulinelli and I try to help the team as much as I can. In the meantime, I’m focused on recovery and I want to thank Dr. Davide Bonasia and his team at the Mauriziano Hospital in Turin, they made me feel at home during a difficult time and gave me the opportunity to work to get back on the pitch. I also thank my brother who stood by me throughout the entire operation phase and the club for their closeness”.
