The tenth and penultimate round of SuperLega Credem Banca didn’t smile in Piacenza and Modena: the fresh winners of the Del Monte® Coppa Italia lost in three sets to Cisterna, while the Valsa Group only surrendered in the tie break against Monza. However, the two teams from Emilia are already ready to return to the field for the first leg of the CEV Cup Semifinals.

After the success in the Del Monte® Coppa Italia and after the misstep in Cisterna, Bluenergy Daiko Volley Piacenza is back in the European arena: tomorrow, Tuesday 7 March, the red and whites at 20.15 will face Knack Roeselare on Belgian soil in the first leg of the CEV Cup semi-final. Cuban centre-back Robertlandy Simon will not take part in the away match, as he remained in Piacenza to continue his differentiated work due to a back problem. Last May, the Belgian team won its second consecutive championship, bringing the number of titles won to 13 since 1964. This season they took part in the Champions League, where they finished third in Pool C, the same as Lube Civitanova.

Second consecutive appointment at the PalaPanini for the Valsa Group Modena which, after the Sunday marathon against Vero Volley Monza which ended in the fifth set in favor of the Brianzoli, will host the Poles of PGE Skra Belchatow on Wednesday evening. Several well-known faces in the Italian championship will face Modena: Filippo Lanza, Dick Kooy, Aleksandar Atanasijevic, as well as the former Polish international Civitanova Bieniek. On the bench instead sits Andrea Gardini, who took over in the running. In PlusLiga, Skra returned to the success that had been missing for eight rounds, while in the CEV Cup they only lost the first leg against the Czechs of CEZ Karlovarsko, 3-2, before overturning the result, qualifying with a clear 3-0 in home.

Both return matches are scheduled for next Wednesday, March 15, at 20.30.
