The opposite Lorenzo Sala, a young blue promise, in the rest break between one collegiate and another in Cavalese, talks about himself like this: between passions, expectations in Taranto and the volleyball example of his father Andrea, after his debut in the friendly match with the national team, where he signed an ace that allowed the Azzurri to win the test match against Bulgaria in Cavalese.

1. How is your adventure with the national team going?

We’re just at the beginning, it’s going well, in the best way with the whole group in Cavalese. Now let’s try to go to an official competition and enjoy what we are experiencing to the fullest with a group of fantastic people, beyond the champions who are my teammates.

2. How are you preparing for your arrival in Taranto? Do you play other sports besides the national team?

For now, training and concentrating on my commitments in the national team along this path, because we’re always there, now we’re in a small moment of rest these four days off and therefore my holidays are also quite limited because they are really only a few days. Usually I don’t practice other sports in particular but I follow all sports in general, from Formula 1 to basketball.

3. What do you think of the technical staff that has emerged, did you already know Mr. Mastrangelo and Andriani?

In the technical staff of Taranto I do not know coach Mastrangelo directly but I have heard a lot about him and I had the opportunity to talk to Tim Held who is here with us in the national team, and was coached by him, he was his player in Reggio and he always told me that he is a great person that I will get along well with. He’s a coach who understands you and so I think, at least from my point of view, that as a characteristic in a coach it’s very important, while mister Andriani I haven’t had the opportunity to meet him yet and I haven’t had any opinions from anyone else, so it will be a nice discovery to meet him as soon as I go down to Taranto.

4. What do you think of the team that has been formed?

As for the team that has just formed in Taranto, I think we will be a very competitive squad, we can certainly achieve our goals and who knows maybe even risk doing a little more, it never hurts, and I think we will be satisfied with that what we’re going to do because I see that the team will most likely be strong. I think as people they are all fantastic too so as a group we will be strong as well.
