There are five days left until the end of the regular season and Cisterna Volley is now awaiting a close double challenge. We start next Sunday (11 February) at 7pm when coach Guillermo Falasca’s Pontini will be away to Modena and then, on Valentine’s Day, the visit of Perugia is scheduled in the match at 8.30pm with tickets already on sale online on the Vivaticket platform and in authorized Vivaticket sales points in the area.

«We are very satisfied with the progress of the team this season, we had a complicated start to the championship for a whole series of reasons but then we came out of that moment very well and were able to obtain a series of victories that made everything worthwhile the work done and, at the same time, the public was excited and involved – explains Candido Grande, sporting director of Cisterna Volley – Once we reached the goal of salvation, which was the seasonal objective that the club had set, we now have the opportunity to fight for the more ambitious goal of a place in the play-offs. Reaching this goal will be complicated because we have to deal with Modena who are a great team but we will try all the way. Obviously the possibility of fighting for this prestigious goal emerged with time but above all with the work done by the boys, the coach and all the staff and I can say that this season is showing that we can do good things in Cisterna.”

Meanwhile, after the three-point victory in Taranto, Cisterna Volley has risen to 22 points in the Super League rankings thanks to seven victories this season. In the last outing Cisterna also achieved three records of the day: with 24 minutes of play the fourth set (won 20-25) was one of the fastest sets of the entire sixth day, then with 68 points Cisterna was the team that has scored the most: the points data is obtained by calculating the points scored minus the opponents’ errors. As regards the statistics of point blocks, Cisterna set the day’s record in the Super League with 15 winning blocks, in detail distributed with four by the specialist Aleksandar Nedeljkovic (the Serbian central defender is currently in second place overall behind Loser in this special ranking) then three blocks each for Pavle Peric and Efe Bayram, two for Theo Faure and Daniele Mazzone and one by Michele Baranowicz.
