The new coach of Gabbiano Farmamed Mantova is Andrea Radici. Born in 1966, a native of Città di Castello, the coach succeeds Simone Serafini and has signed a one-year contract with the club.
His curriculum is absolutely prestigious: after starting out as second coach in his city’s club, in Serie A2, from 1996 to 1999 he was at the helm of Perugia, in B1. This was followed by experiences on the benches of Perugia, Arezzo, Spoleto and Foligno (all between B1 and B2), before his first assignment in Serie A2, that of first coach of Monini Spoleto, until mid-December 2005.
After a year on the bench of Bastia Umbra, in B1, from 2007-2008 he returned to his hometown, and began a dizzying climb. First he dominated the B1 tournament, closing with 25 victories in 26 days, gaining promotion, and then he lived another four years in the category, reaching the playoffs in 2009-2010 (first round), in 2010-2011 (semifinal) and in 2011-2012 (semifinal).
The 2012-2013 season was the one of triumph: Radici and his Città di Castello dominated the A2 tournament with 22 victories and only two defeats, and obtained the long-awaited promotion to the Superleague. Superleague where, the following year, Radici once again led his team to the playoffs, finishing in seventh place in the standings and then losing to Piacenza in the play-offs.
Piacenza, who then chose him the following year as technical guide, before Radici moved to the Marche, starting again from Serie B at the helm of Fano and gaining promotion to A3 at the end of the 2018-2019 season.
