The Under-21 Beach Volleyball World Championships kick off tomorrow, Wednesday, October 15, in Puebla, Mexico. Representing the Italian national team in the men’s draw will be a single Italian pair: Matteo Iurisci and Andrea Sanguanini, a member of Conad Volley Tricolore.

The federal team will compete on the opening day in the knockout qualifying rounds, aiming to secure one of the four spots available for the main draw.

For Andrea Sanguanini, this is his third international experience with the Italian national team this season: the young opposite hitter from Reggio Emilia has already participated in the Under-22 and Under-20 continental tournaments in Baden and Madrid, both paired with Matteo Marchesan, achieving twenty-fifth place and an excellent fourth place, respectively.

The competition format features a main draw of 32 pairs per gender, divided into eight groups of four. Each team will play three matches in the pool stage: the first-place team will advance directly to the round of 16, the second and third-place teams will advance to the round of 32, while the fourth-place team will be eliminated. The competition will then continue with quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals to determine the world title.
