A packed Palazzetto, a match bordering on the epic, and a victory that feels like history. Saverio De Santis, libero of Domotek Volley Reggio Calabria, talks about the exciting game 2 of the Serie A3 playoff semifinals, won in the tie-break against a very strong team, Acqui Terme, projecting his eyes and plans to game two, which will be played Sunday at 5 pm at Palavalenza in Piedmont.
“It was an incredible battle,” begins De Santis, still electrified. “They played great, but we are a team that never gives up. When Petras came to give me a high five after that recovery, I understood that we were experiencing something special. This crowd gave us an incredible boost: that set in advantages (37-36) was not easy, but we took it home with heart.”
The game was a succession of emotions: “Zappoli playing on one leg, Lazzaretto scoring 30 points, my reception… Everyone gave their all. Brunetti, their libero, is very strong, and the whole team is very tough. But today, with this arena behind us, losing was not an option.”
What is striking, in addition to the performance on the field, is the affection of the fans: “Having almost 4,000 people supporting you, with the second and third rings full… is something that doesn’t even happen in the Superleague!
This result is also thanks to them: every ball recovered, every point, was experienced with incredible passion.”
De Santis does not hide his pride for the team’s path: “We are in the first year in A3, and yet we are writing a page in history.
