Itas Trentino is back in the lead in the Scudetto Finals series: in front of 4,000 spectators at the ilT Quotidiano Arena – once again sold out – Fabio Soli’s team won 3-0 against Giampaolo Medei’s Cucine Lube Civitanova, moving to 2-1 ahead of Game 4, scheduled for Wednesday 7 May at 8:30 pm at the Eurosuole Forum. During the first set, Trento immediately extended its lead, maintaining a safe distance from Civitanova and winning the first set with a score of 25-22. Among the protagonists, in the ranks of the Dolomites, were Michieletto and Rychlicki, authors of 8 and 7 points respectively; Civitanova relied on the 64% attack of Lagumdzija, who found 7 seals, while Bottolo, victim of gastrointestinal problems on the eve of the match, was replaced by Loeppky during the match. The script does not change in the second set, with the home team extending their lead in the final minutes, managing to find the 2-0 in the set count thanks to the final 25-18. In the role of top scorer of the set is Lavia, who finds 8 points. The beginning of the third set is more balanced than the previous ones, with Trento who manages in any case to take off, closing the set and, in fact, also the match: the 25-18 makes the Dolomite arena exult, with Trento thus moving ahead in the series awaiting Game 4. In double figures, for Itas, also Michieletto and Lavia (both closed with 12 points); Civitanova finds in Lagumdzija the only athlete capable of going beyond 10 points.

Even today there were some mistakes and inaccuracies that we were able to accept with serenity, an element that we must safeguard and bring to Civitanova for the next match if we want to stop the home field advantage that is raging in this series. All three matches were marked by various mistakes by both teams, but they were always won by those who managed to face the problems encountered with serenity and patience. From this point of view, Itas Trentino was very efficient today, as it had been in Game 1; we need to maintain the same spirit also in the Marche next Wednesday. We know that it will be a different match from today’s, we will have to suffer in all the fundamentals because Cucine Lube has a truly remarkable quality of play and knows how to express moments of very high volleyball.
