A big match, a playoff atmosphere, and a victory of character. Domotek Volley Reggio Calabria prevailed in an “epic” match, as libero Saverio De Santis described it, against one of the strongest teams in the group, Gioia del Colle. After the victory, the Palmi-born libero, De Santis, shares his emotions, analysis, and hopes for a team that never stopped believing.

“We knew we were playing against probably the team with the strongest roster in the group. It was absolutely not easy,” De Santis begins. It was a tough match. They’re a great team, with some very strong individual players, players of a caliber that can be compared to other categories: Sabbi, Paris, and Mariano last year, who have been important players in Serie A2 in recent years. They’re strong at center, as is the libero. We played well: we played a truly team game, and the one who came off the bench was the one who did well. My compliments to Mancinelli, who did a great job replacing Zappoli at a crucial moment. It was a team victory.
