The Smartsystem Essence hotels Fano that you don’t expect.
The three weeks of break from official competitions have done the Fano team good, who, somewhat surprisingly, have violated the difficult Pineto court and have taken a 1-0 lead in the series: “Good at managing the complicated end of the fourth set – says one of the protagonists, the Slovenian Ian Klobucar – we played a good match overall, especially in the first two sets. Now in front of our fans we can close the series, we will do everything to bring home the qualification”.
The MVP of the match was the spiker Pietro Merlo, devastating in several moments of the match: “We fully deserved the victory – says the Venetian – I congratulate my teammates but also the opponents who never gave up until the end”.
Three weeks in which the Virtussini managed to work well, without official matches: “That’s right – confirms Merlo – we worked on the things to improve and I would say that today we put them into practice. Sunday for game two will still be tough because Pineto has shown that it is a strong team”. Fano will play with the home field advantage at its disposal: “Great crowd in Pineto, we knew it – concludes Merlo – but I’m sure that they will find the same atmosphere with us”.
