The Scudetto Final is more open than ever. In a sold-out Eurosuole Forum, with over 4,000 cheering fans, Cucine Lube Civitanova wins the second match against Itas Trentino 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-22). The cooks thus bring the best-of-five series against the Dolomites to 1-1, awaiting the third round, scheduled for Sunday, May 4, at 3:20 p.m., on the taraflex of the ilT quotidiano Arena.
The difference was made by the impact of top scorer Mattia Bottolo, awarded MVP with 16 points, including 6 serving and 1 blocking, and the mental strength of the entire home team. Nikolov also scored in double figures with 12 goals. On the Trentino front, former red and white player Gabi Garcia (12), Michieletto (11) and Lavia (10) finished in double figures.
In the first set Lube prevails thanks to the monstrous performance of Bottolo (9 points, with 4 of the 5 team aces), but Trento is present at the block (4 winners) and the set is decided with a final acceleration of the red and whites from 18-20 to 25-21.
The second set, after a point-to-point phase, sees Lube take the upper hand in all the fundamentals, thanks to a Boninfante on the ball. The cooks close with the same score as the previous partial (25-21).
Also in the third set the management of the fundamentals smiles on the collective from the Marche, capable of prevailing 25-22 with 7 points from Nikolov.

Each match of this Play Off is a story in itself, to do well you need a lot of patience. Today’s victory is very important, but we need to reset immediately and already think about the next one”.
Fabio Soli (coach Itas Trentino): “Game 1 was a particular match, in which we were good at taking advantage of some of Civitanova’s shortcomings to gain the lead in the series, while today Cucine Lube was effective and ready to do so. The rival group showed what we will always see in the next games of the series, aggression in serving and defense, this evening we did not do the same. We did not take advantage of some important opportunities, especially in counterattack; therefore we need to find solutions on the opponents’ accelerations. Our reception suffered today, doing a job of great sacrifice and to be able to help them in the best way we must be more present in the construction of the game. We will analyze carefully what happened to play differently in Game 3!”.
