The adventure of the Under 19 team of the Kioene Pallavolo Padova Academy at the National Finals of the category, held in Termoli from 13 to 18 May, ended with sixth place. An intense journey, made up of eight matches in six days, which tested the physical and mental endurance of the young black and whites, who were nevertheless capable of expressing a level of play that grew during the tournament.
After having brilliantly overcome the group stage and the round of 16, Kioene Padova’s run was interrupted in the quarterfinals. An epilogue that does not overshadow the good things shown by the team led by coach Giorgio Sabbadin, who comments on the week spent in Molise as follows:
“The experience was certainly positive, because as often happens in these events, the boys manage to raise the level of their performances. On more than one occasion we expressed technical and tactical contents that had not always emerged during the season. However, there is still regret for the quarterfinals: we had managed to get them on the right track from a technical, tactical and attitude point of view, but in the third set of the quarterfinals we wasted some important opportunities and we paid dearly for them. In these moments, either you seize the moment or the possibilities are drastically reduced”.
