Over the weekend of July 11-13, the Palasport on Viale delle Province successfully hosted one of the qualifying pools for the 2026 European Under-22 Championships, scheduled for Portugal. Ukraine secured first place in the group, winning three of their three matches. Coach Vincenzo Fanizza’s Italy, thanks to a display of character and quality, qualified for the finals as the best second-place finisher, capping three days of high-level technical and competitive play.
Making the event even more memorable was the warm embrace of the Cisterna crowd, who transformed the arena into a true sports festival. This concerted participation involved families, institutions, and fans of all ages, confirming the city’s vocation as a host to top-level international volleyball.
