Setter Jacopo Biffi is the new captain of ErmGroup Altotevere. The 25-year-old Lombard playmaker, in his third consecutive season with the white and blues, has taken over the captain’s armband that Niccolò Cappelletti wore last year. Sporting director Valdemaro Gustinelli explained the change: “It was our express wish to rotate the captaincy.” Biffi was undoubtedly pleased, declaring: “When the coach called to tell me, I was proud, because it’s always a show of confidence. I’d already been captain when I was in the youth team, but this is the first time it’s happened since I’ve been playing for the first team. Furthermore, there are teammates here who have worn this jersey longer than me, and others who are older than me, so it means they think I’m mature enough to fill this role.”
