Play Off SuperLega Credem Banca all in one go for Cucine Lube Civitanova. The red and white team, which closed the Scudetto Semifinal in Perugia on Thursday, will be back on the field against Itas Trentino tomorrow, Sunday 27 April (6:30 pm with live coverage on Rai Sport, DAZN, VBTV and Radio Arancia), on the taraflex of the ilT quotidiano Arena for the first round of the best-of-five series. Coming soon, therefore, is the remake of the 2022/23 Final which ended with the success of the Dolomites in the “bella” at home.
Both teams are playing their tenth titled series in the Credem Banca SuperLega, while setter Santiago Orduna will celebrate 500 appearances in Italy.
As in the Semifinal, Lube will play the second and eventual fourth round at the Eurosuole Forum in search of the eighth Scudetto after the 7 already in the trophy cabinet (2022, 2021, 2019, 2017, 2014, 2012, 2006) out of 9 Finals played. This season, Giampaolo Medei’s team (still in the Scudetto Final as head coach of the red and whites after the disappointment with Perugia in 2017/18) lost the Final for the bronze at the Club World Cup in Brazil, before making up for it with the triumph in the Del Monte® Coppa Italia in Bologna. In the following months, they won the continental silver in the Challenge Cup against the Polish team Lublin and returned to a Scudetto Final thanks to the feat in Umbria, with qualification for the Champions League included.
Trento, which will instead play Game 1, Game 3 and the possible Game 5 at home, boasts 5 Scudetti (2023, 2015, 2013, 2011, 2008) out of 9 Finals played and is chasing its sixth tricolor in a season that saw it lose the Del Monte® Super Cup Final in Florence against Perugia and the decisive match of the Club World Cup in Brazil against Sada Cruzeiro. Then for Fabio Soli’s team came the elimination in the Coppa Italia Semifinal in Bologna at the hands of Lube and the exit from the scene in the CEV Cup Semifinal against Ankara.
