“It is always dreams that shape the world, it is always dreams that make reality” – Luciano Ligabue has been singing since 2013. At the time, Matteo Bonomi was blowing out seven candles on his cake after silently making a wish. Shortly after, his youthful journey in the world of volleyball began, and we know that the dream of every child who starts a team sport is to grow up and be able to play in the top division and alongside their idols.
Today, that dream has begun to come true for Matteo, because he will face his first season in the Superleague with Cuneo Volley alongside great players from the Italian and European scene, after just one season in A2 in his hometown, Brescia.
« This year I had the opportunity to debut and demonstrate my worth in A2 and I felt like I had made a dream come true. When the call from Cuneo came, I really thought I was dreaming; when you are a child, you watch the great champions on TV and imagine you can reach their level. This call has crowned the hopes of that child who now can’t wait to show his worth. I’m super excited for the next season and I can’t wait to give my best on the field” – this is Matteo’s first statement as a Cuneo Volley player.
