This upcoming weekend will be a dress rehearsal for Itas Trentino ahead of the official start of the 2025/26 season. On Saturday, October 11th and Sunday, October 12th, the Italian champions will compete in the four-team tournament known as the “Trofeo Ferramenta Astori” in Montichiari (province of Brescia), which will feature Valsa Group Modena, Sonepar Padova, and Vero Volley Monza.
The Brianza team will face Marcelo Mendez’s team in the second semifinal on Saturday at 7:30 pm at the PalaGeorge (the first match will be played at 5 pm and will feature the other two teams). For the occasion, Itas Trentino, holders of the previous edition of the trophy, will field the two new World Champions Michieletto and Sbertoli, who were absent from Wednesday’s 3-0 win over Padova in Schio. They will therefore make the most of the double fixture (the Finals for 3rd and 1st place are scheduled for Sunday) to begin refining their game mechanics and acquiring match rhythm.
