Eve of the CEV Champions League Final Four at Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia: the Umbrian team, which landed yesterday in Lodz, the city that will host the final act of the most important continental event for Clubs, will take to the field tomorrow evening, Friday 16 May, at 20:00, against Halkbank Ankara, in the match that will provide the pass for the Final on Sunday. The challenge will be broadcast live on Sky Sport Arena and on DAZN.
It will be the third seasonal match between the two clubs, who have already had the opportunity to study and compete in the Group Stage: one victory each, with Perugia winning 3-0 in Turkey in the first leg, only to then lose in the tie-break at the Pala Barton Energy.
Halkbank Ankara is led by Radostin Stoytchev, until a few months ago the head coach of Rana Verona: among the Turkish ranks there are also two acquaintances of the Credem Banca SuperLega, such as Yoandy Leal, a spiker who left Piacenza in the summer, and Dick Kooy, a Dutch hammer with experience in Modena, Lube, Piacenza and Trento.
The other finalist will instead be known on Saturday: the two Polish teams of JSW Jastrzebski Wegiel and Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie will face each other.
Oleh Plotnytskyi (Sir Susa Vim Perugia): “As always, the most important thing will be to stay together, from the first to the last, it doesn’t matter what moment we are in, whether we are ahead or behind, because we have seen that we have the ability to get back into the game and push even more; we will have to look at our court, if our opponents change something we must adapt as quickly as possible. We have also prepared for this: first of all we will have to do our part, as we have done throughout the season and stay in the game, until the last point. The serve will of course be important because it can give some breaks and some more points”.
