On the second day of the Playoff round for fifth place, Cisterna Volley was defeated by Rana Verona. The Pontine team fought until the end, especially in the third set, but paid the price for the quality of service of the Scaligeri, one of the key elements that influenced the outcome of the match that took place at the Pala AGSM AIM. In the last two challenges, twelve elements of the Cisterna Volley roster took to the field, with coach Falasca’s team currently occupying third place in the standings.

STATS – Despite the negative result, the challenge offered encouraging ideas. Among these, the debut as a starter for the young Alessandro Finauri, who played his first match of the season playing all the sets. Also making his debut in the sextet was libero Willner Rivas, who responded with a convincing performance, proving to be one of the brightest of the Pontine collective.

Rivas was the second best scorer of Cisterna with 10 points in attack and an excellent efficiency of 56%, behind only Theo Faure, top scorer of the match with 15 points. On serve, the most incisive was captain Michele Baranowicz, author of two aces, while Nedeljkovic and Faure scored one each. At the block, the middle blocking pair formed by Daniele Mazzone and Aleksandar Nedeljkovic closed with a winning block each. Also noteworthy is the positive entry in the second set of Efe Bayram, who brought energy and points, closing with 7 scores and an excellent 58% efficiency in attack.
