The 2025/2026 SuperLega season has started at a blistering pace, with Rana Verona facing their second match, scheduled for Saturday, October 25th at 6:00 PM on the Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina court. Coach Fabio Soli spoke at a press conference ahead of the match to introduce the team.
Here’s what he had to say: “I’m happy with the first win because breaking the ice in a home game in front of a great crowd like Monday’s further demonstrated the energy we have this season. I’m pleased with our tenacious, if not pretty, approach to a match. This tells us we need to work hard to improve our level of play. We rely on attack and serve, but we need to improve our blocking, defense, and counterattack because all the work we’ve done in these phases allows us to put more pressure on our opponents. Last year, Grottazzolina had an impressive second half of the season; when I faced them, we struggled a lot. They’re a team that has learned to cope with difficulties and has capitalized on it, retaining key players like Petkovic, Fedrizzi, and Marchisio. I expect the same tenacity from them. We’ll have to keep our alertness high, keeping an eye on the result, but also on our performance.”
