Porto Robur Costa 2030 draws heavily from its youth sector to complete the team that will face the next A2 2025/26 championship. In fact, the setter Luca Iurlaro, the middle blocker Lorenzo Gabellini and the libero Andrea Asoli have entered the first team permanently.
Iurlaro, born in Vibo on June 21, 2008, son of art (his father Vito was a middle blocker who played numerous A2 championships in Matera, Cutrofiano, Taranto and Vibo and is now a coach), was part of the Under 17 group last year, in his first year in Ravenna, that played both the D series championship and the regional category tournament.
Gabinelli, born in 2007, and Asoli, born in 2008, were under the orders of Francesco Mollo and Matteo Baroni in the Under 19 group engaged in the C championship, in the category championship and in the Junior League, which ended in second place. Asoli has already tasted the first team, when he replaced the injured Pascucci in the roster.
“We are continuing the work on the youth sector that began years ago – comments Antonio Valentini – with a view to inserting boys into the first team staff by increasing their experience and consolidating their training. In the specific case of these three latest additions, they are among very serious boys, who have shown good growth in the last year and have the right doses of character and a technical background that puts them in the conditions to try this leap.
