Third-place finish in Serie A3. SAV Trebaselghe is packing up and heading to Emilia to compete against another newly promoted team—Stadium Mirandola—who, like Silvolley, achieved promotion to the next level by defeating Limbiate in the final stages of the Serie B playoffs last June.
The Emilians have a long history in volleyball, having even briefly played in Serie A3 a few years ago. This year, they made their debut away from home, losing, like us, 3-1, but in their second home game, they prevailed over the very team that, on the other side of the Piave, had made us suffer in our debut about ten days ago: San Donà.
Here’s what head coach Daldello had to say about our upcoming opponents: “Mirandola, despite being a newly promoted team like us, has strengthened significantly with the additions of players like Sitti, Spagnol, and, last but not least, Galliani, a player with many years of Superleague experience. We’re coming off a good team performance against Belluno, a performance that certainly boosted our morale. But we know that every game is different, and facing Mirandola on their home turf won’t be easy: we’ll have to fight point-for-point for long stretches of the game. We’ll have to struggle!”
