Spiker Zhasmin Velichkov will officially join MINT Vero Volley Monza in the 2025/2026 season. The Brianza team will represent an opportunity for Velichkov to grow in a high-level environment and a challenge that will take him beyond his native country.
An 18-year-old Bulgarian by nationality, Velichkov began his volleyball career with the Beroe 2016 Stara Zagora team in 2022. With the club, he participated in several major Bulgarian competitions; in fact, in 2023, he finished third in the 65th Bulgarian Cup. In the 2024/2025 season, again with Beroe 2016, he won the bronze medal in the Bulgarian Superleague and the silver medal in the 2024 BVA Cup.
Equally significant were his achievements with the Bulgarian national team, allowing him to shine as a starter for the team and winning important awards. His first success with the national team came in 2023, when Velichkov topped the podium at the Balkan Under-17 Championship and was recognized as the tournament’s best opposite hitter. That same year, the Bulgarian spiker secured silver at the European Under-17 Championship. Velichkov’s 2024 campaign brought two more medals for Bulgaria: gold at the Balkan Under-21 Championship and silver at the European Under-21 Championship.
