The competitive season of Smartsystem Essence Hotels Fano is not over yet, as they will play the Coppa Italia quarter-finals in Cuneo on Thursday, May 1st (6:00 p.m.) against the newly promoted Ma Acqua S. Bernardo Cuneo in the Superleague.
Just last week, the Piedmontese team, in front of five thousand people, managed to graduate as champions and will arrive at this event full of energy and with the intention of not disappointing: “A very complicated matchup – says coach Vincenzo Mastrangelo – we are competing with the best in the category who have played an excellent end to the season. We will play it, also because it is always a one-off match and anything can happen. We are among the top eight and I think that, for what we have shown, this achievement is fully deserved”.
In the regular season, the matches between Cuneo and Fano ended in a draw (3-2 Fano in the first leg, 3-1 Cuneo in the return leg), even if it is clear that the home team will start as favourites: “I am proud – continues the coach from Puglia – to have brought some of the boys to become good players in the A2 series, then we will see what kind of growth there will be next year”.
