The balance of Week 2 of the Volleyball Nations League 2025 sees the Italian National Team close the week of challenges in the United States with 3 wins and 1 defeat. The 3-0 success against the hosts of the United States – in the challenge that took place during the night – thus allows the team coached by Ferdinando De Giorgi to temporarily climb to third place in the general ranking, behind Poland and Brazil.

Poland and Brazil were two of the four National Teams faced in Week 2 by Italy: in the debut, against the Poles, a success came in the tie-break, which was followed by the victory in three sets against China. Against Brazil, however, a setback for Simone Giannelli and his teammates, forced to the knockout after five sets against the Verdeoro. The aforementioned victory against the United States gave the sixth smile in this VNL for the Italian National Team, which is targeting the Finals, scheduled from July 30 to August 3 in Ningbo, China.

Week 3 will see Italy on stage in Slovenia, from July 16 to 20: the Azzurri will face, in order, Serbia, Ukraine, Slovenia and the Netherlands.
