The list of Italian teams participating in European competitions in the 2026/27 season has been updated: Valsa Group Modena will compete in the CEV Cup alongside Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza. The Modena team’s request for repechage (which concluded last season by winning the Credem Banca 5th Place Playoffs, automatically qualifying for the Challenge Cup) has been accepted by the CEV. Therefore, no Italian team will participate in the next Challenge Cup.
After a three-year absence, the Emilian team will return to European competitions: the last time was in 2022/23, when their continental campaign ended with a victory in the CEV Cup. Piacenza was also among the Italian teams in that tournament, finishing in the semifinals.
The updated list is below.
CEV CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
Sir Susa Scai Perugia (Championship finalist)
Cucine Lube Civitanova (Championship finalist)
Rana Verona (best semifinalist, 2nd in the Regular Season)
Itas Trentino (wild card)
CEV CUP
Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza (worst semifinalist, 5th in the Regular Season)
Valsa Group Modena (repeated)
