Thirty-one days after his announcement as a Cuneo player for the next Superleague season, Ivan Zaytsev has arrived in town!
This afternoon, Thursday 19 June, after completing the usual medical checks, the white-blue spiker was welcomed by President Gabriele Costamagna, journalists and local institutions at the presentation press conference, at the “Da Costa Restaurant” inside the Cuneo Country Club.
« If you think about volleyball in the last twenty years, Ivan Zaytsev comes to mind. Fame goes hand in hand with personality and what the athlete transmits on and off the court. We needed him to embody our ambition and passion, transmitting it to the city, the fans and the supporters.»
Zaytsev expressed great determination in fully embracing the Club’s ambitions and had really nice words for everyone, but certainly those that made people smile and think of moments from the past were those addressed to the Blu Brothers: “My ears still ring after ten years, but the whistles of the Blu Brothers for me were and are synonymous with respect for the player as a feared opponent. In my opinion, they are one of the fan bases, if not the most beautiful fan base in Italy and finding them in favor this time is certainly a relief and a great privilege, because I assure you, coming to play against this arena was not easy”.
