Wednesday, April 8th was a different kind of morning for ErmGroup Altotevere. No gym, no weights, but a practical lesson for high school students, as part of the “At School with Volleyball” project. Along with Volley Altotevere coordinator Giulia Rigucci, sports director Valdemaro Gustinelli, coach Marco Bartolini, and captain Jacopo Biffi, they went to the main hall of the Franchetti-Salviani campus in Città di Castello to illustrate the overall management of a sports club to the students in the third, fourth, and fifth grades of the “Administration, Finance, and Technical-Sports Marketing” major at the school. From management roles to logistics, from athlete registration procedures to training setup, from daily duties to travel arrangements and relationships with the Federation and League: these are just some of the aspects covered in the three-hour training course, which concluded with the distribution of a quiz-style questionnaire to familiarize students with the tasks they will be expected to complete should they undertake this specific program. “We contacted the management and teachers, whom we thank for their collaboration,” stated Giulia Rigucci, “and since it is a technical center focused on accounting, we focused on the classic distinction between theory and practice to bring our concrete experience of competing in a championship with professional prerogatives, such as the Serie A3 Credem Banca.”
