The A2 playoff series is becoming increasingly exciting and hard-fought. After losing in Game 3 on the court of Reggio Emilia, Domotek Volley is called upon to react immediately. Saverio De Santis, libero and charismatic player for the Reggio team, is convinced of this. He analyzes the team’s current form and launches an appeal to the city ahead of next Sunday’s decisive clash at PalaCalafiore.
The defeat on an unprecedented Easter Sunday hasn’t dampened the Calabrian libero’s enthusiasm, and he tries to shed light on the team’s mood. “It’s a very long series of five games. We lost two, which is normal; Reggio Emilia is a great opponent. We just need to acknowledge what went well and what didn’t. We’ll work during the week to put on a great match on Sunday in front of our wonderful fans,” De Santis begins. According to the Domotek libero, the 3-0 away defeat doesn’t tell the whole truth: “I see the 3-0 as a bit of a misleading result; it absolutely doesn’t reflect the quality we showed on the court. I’m approaching it this week with my usual smile, as if nothing had happened. We’ll work hard, and on Sunday we’ll reap the rewards.”

De Santis doesn’t hide the fact that the match against Reggio Emilia has become a chess match, where the details will make the difference. And to turn the result around, he draws on past experience: “This is how I see it: we’re down 2-1 in sets, as if it were a single match. We’ve already shown in the Coppa Italia Del Monte in Serie A3 that we can make a great comeback. In the most difficult moments, we manage to emerge, to give our best when we’re struggling.” And regarding the dream in the final rush of the championship, the libero smiles and pauses: “I’m not saying this to ward off superstition… but you can dream big.”
