Having developed his volleyball skills in Castiglione delle Stiviere—and following a long period of recruitment and remote monitoring—he officially became a “Diavolo Rosa” last season.
In just one year at Brugherio, he has made rapid strides: becoming the Under-17 Italian Champion, Under-19 Italian runner-up, and earning a call-up to the national team—wearing the *azzurro* jersey with which he recently secured fourth place at the Under-18 European Championships.
Born in 2009 and standing 202 centimeters tall, Diego Bussolari—a player with immense talent and a bright future ahead—will play as an outside hitter (Position 4) for the Diavoli Rosa in the Serie A3 Credem Banca championship for the 2026/27 season, making him one of the youngest players in the division.
Coach Danilo Durand: “He joined the Diavoli Rosa last year and has made significant progress in that time, becoming a key player in the Under-17 squad—where he won the Italian title—as well as in the Under-19 team and the youth national teams, where he is enjoying an exceptional run. Now, we are very eager to see him in action in the Serie A3 championship. In terms of his playing style, Diego embodies the modern outside hitter, possessing impressive physical and technical attributes; he is an athlete who is truly stimulating to work with. He will need to continue his development and carve out as much playing time as possible during matches to help us secure safety in the league, which is our goal for the season.”
