The 33rd edition of the Del Monte® Junior League, kicking off Sunday, May 31st, with the decisive matches scheduled for Tuesday, June 2nd, will offer future athletes not only a chance to showcase their skills but also a chance to see young volleyball players (the competition is open to Under-20 teams) who played in Serie A last season, from SuperLega to Serie A3, through A2. Regular players are listed, not to mention occasional call-ups.
Autopancotti Vero Volley Monza is the defending champion and will be able to count on the support of Diego Frascio, a regular on the roster of the Brianza-based team that finished the SuperLega championship; in addition to opposite hitter Lorenzo Ciampi, a young middle blocker making his first experience among the seniors, and hammer hitter Nicolò Mapelli. Gabriele Pertoldi (spiker) and Gioele Taiwo (middle hitter) spent the season away from the Opiquad Arena, returning from their experience in Serie A2 with Campi Reali Cantù, while Umberto Caporossi excelled in Serie A3 with Terni Volley Academy.
The standout name for Consar Ravenna is Manuel Zlatanov, born in 2008, who has been in Romagna for two years and is the driving force behind the Ravenna team. He is joined by Simone Bertoncello, Luca Iurlaro, and Andrea Asoli, all of whom are on the Consar roster for the 2025/26 season. Leonardo Sanchi played in the Serie A2 championship with Rinascita Lagonegro.
Among the Valsa Group Modena players, middle blocker Riccardo Grue spent the 2025/26 season wearing the jersey of Stadium Mirandola in Serie A3, like Alessandro Storchi, while Nicolò Garello played in Serie A2 with Banca Macerata Fisiomed MC. Among the players available for the competition, Sir Susa Scai Perugia’s setter Vitale Tesone, who finished the season with ErmGroup Altotevere San Giustino, has already gained first-team experience.
Itas Trentino is also preparing for the Junior League: middle blocker Leonardo Gabriel Sandu and opposite hitter Davide Boschini used the season to learn from Marcelo Mendez’s “greats,” while spiker Marco Fedrici is fresh off a Serie A3 championship with Personal Time San Donà di Piave.
Mo.Re Reggio Emilia will rely on Andrea Sanguanini, opposite, who is reinvigorated by his victory in the Promotion Playoff with Conad Reggio Emilia, along with teammate Martino Bigozzi. Meanwhile, at Romeo Sorrento, Matteo Iurisci gained experience with Folgore Massa; in Campania, Luca Romano played for Gaia Energy Napoli in Serie A3.
