Domotek Volleyball, Cesare Pellegrino awarded by “Il Metropolitano”: “A unique emotion, recognized by my coach. In Reggio, we are writing an extraordinary story.”

REGGIO CALABRIA – An evening of emotions, memories, and great pride for Cesare Pellegrino, sporting director of Domotek Volleyball, who was the star of the awards ceremony organized by the “Il Metropolitano” portal in the Monteleone Hall of the Calabria Regional Council. This recognition comes at a golden moment for Reggio Calabria volleyball, with the team enjoying a leading season.

After leaving the ceremony, Pellegrino gave us a heartfelt and satisfying statement. “I’m happy to have received this certificate, especially in this particular moment, for everything we’re doing, for the history we’re writing in Reggio Calabria,” the sporting director began.
Making the award even more special was the person who presented it to him. “I won’t deny that this award moved me because it was awarded by Professor Falcone, who was my mentor, the one who introduced me to this sport, who always supports me. He was like a big brother to me,” Pellegrino said. “It was a great feeling to be recognized by him.”

The recognition rekindled in the manager’s mind so many memories from his long career, which also saw him wear the national team jersey. “My entire sporting journey, from when I was young, to when I left home, to when I represented my country abroad. So many memories and so many beautiful things came back to me,” he added.
One of the most touching moments of the conversation was the memory of the legendary PalaBotteghelle (now PalaBenvenuti), where Domotek played a historic match last Wednesday. “It was a great thrill for me, even if it’s no longer my Botteghelle from a structural standpoint. So many memories: three years in Serie A, we almost made it to the Super League,” Pellegrino recalled.
When asked about the condition of the legendary facility, the sporting director smiled. “There wasn’t the Taraflex, there was the parquet flooring that’s there now. The structure is the same, obviously the stands aren’t the same as before. It was a beautiful sight, because the beautiful stands were completely full, 5,000 people every week. It was a wonderful memory,” he continued. “So many games, so many battles, so many matches played in that arena that seemed enormous to us.”
