Winning the Coppa Italia Del Monte in Serie A3 last Sunday in Belluno was just the culmination of a perfect weekend, but for the opposite hitter from Reggio, the club’s historic captain since its founding, it represents a new beginning.
A crowd of cheering fans greeted the team upon their return to the city, right at the airport. It was a welcome that moved the captain. “A wonderful welcome. I said it live on LegaVolley TV: I couldn’t wait to receive the embrace of my wife and son. It was beautiful,” Laganà recounted, still visibly emotional. “I never expected all this, to be honest. We returned with the Coppa Del Monte, we brought it to Reggio, and it was the best welcome we could have had. It was well-deserved, after five hard-fought sets.”
