Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza is pleased to announce the return of Manuel Zlatanov, an 18-year-old Italian talent, to the red and whites for the next three seasons.
Born in Piacenza in 2008, Manuel Zlatanov grew up in the red and white youth academy and over the last two seasons has played in Ravenna in Serie A2, totaling 59 appearances and 38 wins, 618 points scored (496 of which were offensive), 52 aces, and 70 blocks in. He also received 208 receptions.
Manuel Zlatanov is one of the most exciting prospects in the Italian volleyball scene. Born into a professional volleyball career, he is a well-rounded spiker, boasting great elevation, powerful attack, and excellent skills as a second linebacker. Despite his young age, he combines high-level physical qualities with a remarkable technical and competitive background, which he has also developed in the Italian youth national teams.
His return to Piacenza demonstrates the club’s commitment to nurturing homegrown talent and investing in promising athletes ready to compete at the highest level.
Despite his youth, Manuel Zlatanov has already made Italian volleyball history by becoming the youngest ever debutant in the Superleague, an achievement that certifies his talent and athletic maturity. This happened on December 3, 2023, in the match between Piacenza and Verona, where he served for a turn in the third set, making his debut at the age of 15 years, 8 months, and 26 days.
