Delta Volley Porto Viro’s new signings also include a major return: Nicola Tiozzo will once again wear the black and fuchsia jersey in the upcoming Credem Banca Serie A2 championship. The 1993-born spiker, originally from Chioggia and standing 198 centimeters tall, has signed a two-year contract with President Veronese’s club, running through 2028.
A brief flashback: Tiozzo was a key figure in the Delta first team’s 2023/2024 season, finishing with 393 points and reaching the semifinals in both the playoffs and the Coppa Italia, Porto Viro’s best postseason result ever.
After his stint in Polesine, the Veneto-born center-back played for Cantù and Aversa. Last season, he reached the playoff semifinals once again with the Campania team, scoring 400 points in 33 games and bringing his overall Serie A score to 3,533 points in 356 matches.
A product of the youth teams at Volley Treviso, Tiozzo boasts 12 Serie A seasons in his career—11 in A2 and one in the SuperLega with Sora in 2016/2017—as well as two A2 Italian Cups won with Roma (2017/2018) and Bergamo (2019/2020), and a gold medal with the Italian national team at the 2018 Mediterranean Games.
