Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza battled for nearly two hours against a dozen Red and White Wolves, but Perugia won Game 1 of the Scudetto Semifinals. Having lost the first set by a hair’s breadth after leading for long stretches, Perugia took the second set, only to pay the price in the third. The Red and Whites didn’t start well in the fourth set, but they managed to rally point after point, only to give up the fight at the end.

Game 1 went to the Umbrians; the first battle was theirs, but the war, from what we saw in Perugia, could be long, very long.

Now the match moves to Game 2 at the PalabancaSport: Thursday, April 9th, starting at 8:30 pm, the second act of this Semifinal.

Simon was stellar with 19 points, including four blocks, followed by Bovolenta with 14 blocks and Gutierrez with 13, but it wasn’t enough.
