Sir Susa Scai Perugia has qualified for the 2025/26 SuperLega Credem Banca Playoff Final thanks to a 3-0 win in Game 3 of the Semifinals against Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza at the Pala Barton Energy in Pian di Massiano. Undefeated in the second phase of the top flight, the Umbrian team will be chasing its third Scudetto and will be seeded for the Finals thanks to their final Regular Season victory. The Block Devils will face the winner of the other Semifinal in the best-of-five series, which currently sees Cucine Lube Civitanova leading Rana Verona 2-1. Cucinieri and Scaligeri will face each other on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 6:00 PM, on the taraflex at the Eurosuole Forum for Game 4. This could be a decisive match.
Thanks to Perugia’s qualification for the Final, a team already admitted to the 2026/27 CEV Champions League after finishing first in the regular season and to the 2025/26 Final Four in Turin following their triumph in the Quarterfinals, Verona is already assured of a spot in the next edition of the continent’s premier club trophy, regardless of the outcome of their showdown against Civitanova. Piacenza, on the other hand, will compete in the CEV Champions League if Perugia and Verona compete for the Scudetto, while if Perugia and Civitanova battle for the title, the Emilian team will return to the CEV Cup, where they are in this year’s Final.
The resilience and competitive spirit displayed by the Bianconeri in the third set were crucial to Sir’s sweep of the series against Gas Sales. Angelo Lorenzetti’s men found a combative team, well-prepared by coach Dante Boninfante, but the world champions deserved credit for gritting their teeth and knowing how to suffer in the first two sets, making decisive comebacks and breaks in key moments of the sets, until the catwalk of a third act that was almost never in doubt. Also starting in Perugia’s 6+1 was Solé, who then proved decisive with 11 points (4 blocks). Giannelli got his players moving well and also sent Ben Tara (13), Plotnytskyi (12) and Semeniuk (11) into double figures. On the away side, Simon left the championship with his head held high, as the top scorer in Game 3 of the Semifinals with 14 blocks (1 ace and 3 blocks), while Gutierrez finished with 11. Perugia’s efficiency in attack (58%) and 8 blocks paved the way.
