Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia booked their spot in the Champions League Final Four in Turin (May 16-17) and did so by defeating Las Guaguas Palmas in the second leg of the quarterfinals at PalaBarton Energy. A resounding 3-0 victory secured Giannelli and his teammates a spot in the tournament’s final, where the Block Devils will arrive as defending champions. In Turin, the Perugians will face Polish team PGE Project Warszawa in the semifinals (Saturday, April 16, at 5:00 PM), who defeated Lublin in the quarterfinals and had prevailed in the previous round in a double-header against Trentino Itas.

The match at PalaBarton Energy saw Wassim Ben Tara (13 points, including 4 blocks), well imitated by Oleh Plotnytskyi (13 and the MVP award) and followed by Kamil Semeniuk (12); Osmany Juantorena also finished with 13 points scored.

A performance that, reading the set scores, seemed easy for the Umbrian giants, who successfully imposed their pace from the first rallies. Only in the third set did the Spaniards attempt a response, which was promptly managed by the Block Devils, who, with Semeniuk’s ace, celebrated qualification for the Final Four.
